How To Stay Motivated At Work
A few secrets to keep you motivated.
Feeling lethargic? Sleepy? Restless? It is common to feel this way especially sitting behind a desk for 8 hours.
Here’s what you can or need to do.
Interact with your colleagues
Have you thought about the hours spent daily with your co-workers? On average, a professional works 8 hours a day and 5 days a week. If you think about it, that’s a lot of time. Take the opportunity to get to know your colleagues outside of the office – Grab a snack, lunch out or even go for drinks! When you take the effort to get to know your colleagues at a personal level, you’ll look forward to go to work everyday.
Start the day early
Begin your day before sunrise and work out. It is important that you exercise as it will boost your energy that will help you complete your current tasks.
Make sure you rejuvenate
It is recommended that adults need at least 7 – 8 hours of sleep! You will not be able to function productively at work if you are sleep deprived. Another instance could be when you feel anxious or stressed out in the office, stand up and take a breather outside the building. This will help you regenerate and when you go back to your desk, you will feel an increased level of energy that would help you to tackle your tasks.
Challenge yourself
Explore tasks that are not on your plate. Step out of your comfort zone because if you strictly follow the same routine, work becomes mundane each day. Learn something new from a co-worker because if you challenge yourself to achieve a goal, it can be very fulfilling and motivating. Initiate to take up a new project or attend a brainstorm meeting!
